You have brought your empty bottles, driven to the farm and arrived to find that the milk has sold out. Perhaps the farm posted an update, but you did not see it before leaving. We built availability statuses to keep that information where customers can find it: on the products they are looking at.
Check live offer availability before setting off
Producers can update their offers with statuses including:
- Available
- Just restocked
- Out of stock
- Out of order
Customers can check the latest status alongside the offer’s price, description and any additional notes. The producer updates the status as circumstances change.
Add the details customers need before visiting
A short note can explain more than a status alone. It gives customers useful information about ordering, collection or an interruption to service.
Refill and collection information
A dairy can add when the next refill is expected. A producer selling by pre-order can explain which days are available for collection and how to arrange an order.
For example, Available can be accompanied by a note explaining that a product is available by pre-order only. Always read the ordering and collection details before setting off.
Vending machine interruptions
If a machine breaks down, the farm can mark the affected offers Out of order and add a note about the interruption. This helps customers check the situation before making the journey.
Change grouped offer statuses with one click
Producers can put related offers into a group and change the status of the whole group with a single click.
For example, a dairy can group the milk and milkshake offers served by one machine. If that machine stops working, the affected offers can be marked Out of order together, without editing each flavour separately.
Availability statuses work beyond milk vending
Although this feature was developed with milk vending in mind, statuses also work across other categories, including eggs, honey, bread and other produce.
Keeping offers current helps customers plan their shopping and can prevent an unnecessary trip. For producers, it is a practical way to show that you value your customers’ time.
Start with your next update
Producers: add your offers, keep their statuses current and use notes to explain anything customers need to know before visiting.
Customers: browse Roadside Stall on the web or in the Android and iOS app, and check the latest status and collection information. Planning a market visit? Learn about market reminders and producers’ upcoming attendance.
Purchases and payments take place directly with the producer, outside the app.
